CALO-PET allows the intake of concentrated energy in a savory paste supplemented with unsaturated fatty acids, essential vitamins, minerals and (necessities of life for cats) taurine. Taurine deficiency in cats leads to a degenerative retinal damage (area centralis), which clinically manifests itself in reduced visual acuity and mydriasis and eventually results in blindness.
